538552 On Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 16 ninth graders and 24 eighth graders graduated from Buckley.  The commencement address was given by Robert Mads Anderson, a mountain climber and author who had just returned from the peak of Mt. Everest and has, over the course of his mountaineering career, climbed the Seven Summits solo and without benefit of oxygen.  Everyone was eager to hear his address once the Honor Roll was read and the prizes and pins were awarded.  Some boys will be heading to boarding schools and others to New York City day schools.  We wish our beloved graduates our most heartfelt congratulations on this milestone achievement! 537960 Buckley athletes in the MSand US are celebrated at the PE Awards Ceremony on June 8.  Kudos to the lacrosse team for winning the league championship! 537795 Monday, June 7, dawned blue and cool, auspicious weather for Buckley Field Day 2010!  Buckley boys, their parents and faculty collected on the fields at Randall's Island where, against a backdrop of sparkling blue water, boys played tug-of-war and competed in sack races, hurdle races, relay races and softball.  Classes I-IX participated, and homeroom teams in each grade squared off against each other.  Watermelon and water were available if extra energy was needed before the picnic lunch.  Kudos to the Athletic Department for organizing such an exciting day for the Buckley community! 537623 The Beginners Teddy Bear Picnic, held on June 2, serves as a version of field day for Buckley's very youngest boys.  With parachute games, sack races and bear tosses, the boys had an active time before settling down to picnic lunches with parents, teachers and favorite stuffed animals.
